Mr. Peto loves the taste of coffee in his hot cocoa. He drinks 1/2
cup of hot cocoa, then fills the cup with coffee. After drinking
another 1/2 cup, he again fills the cup with coffee. He continues
in this way until he has consumed 3 cups of the liquid. How much
of the original hot cocoa remains in the cup?
You must submit your work with a written
explanation of your solution process. The explanation should
be written in complete sentences and should use math and language
to reason through the problem. All math done should be visible with
supportive reasoning in the problem.
